After reading last week’s post about 3 Things Every New College Student Needs to Know, we hope that any incoming international students feel better prepared to enter college this year – and maybe some returning students learned something new as well!
When asked what advice they would give to incoming international students, all of the returning international students we surveyed recommended using peerTransfer to make payments to their school. Vaibhav, an international student from India, remarks that peerTransfer’s solution is “the fastest way to send money to my school, and it has low rates compared to banks.” Check out what other advice about peerTransfer international students dished out.
1. Create an account with peerTransfer as soon as possible.
Before you make a payment through us, you should create your own peerTransfer account. This will allow you to book payments and to check the status of each payment. For a more detailed, step-by-step explanation of the peerTransfer payment process, check out our “How It Works” page.
2. Obtain and prepare the necessary information before booking a payment.
Make sure you book your payment with plenty of time before your school’s deadline. It can take a few days for the funds to reach your school, so don’t wait until the last minute! Lam, an international student from Uganda, advises figuring out whether you are paying the full tuition and fees or in installments, how much is due, and your school’s payment deadline. Another important thing to note, says Michaela from Australia, “Obtain your overseas student ID number before trying to make a payment – as this one is different to your home student ID.”
3. Use the 24/7 customer support.
peerTransfer has customer support representatives ready to help you whenever you need it via phone, Skype, email, and the interactive chat session available through the student dashboard. If you have any questions regarding your payment status, how to make a payment, or the payment options available to you, contact our customer support team. Devayani from India comments that peerTransfer customer support is “friendly and easy to work with,” and Abimbola from Nigeria says that “the interactive chat session available through the PeerTransfer website once logged-in really helps to get any status updates on the funds transfer.”
Not only is paying through peerTransfer quick and easy, but it also provides a painless, uncomplicated payment experience during a time when we’re sure you have a lot of other things to worry about.
